Numbers: some green tiles hide ghouls ๐ป. An uncovered tile shows how many ghouls hide in the tiles touching it. Grey walls and ruins never hide one. Work it out โ you never have to guess. Uncover a ghoul and the mist covers the solved tiles around it again โ a setback; the ghouls never move.
Clues in the stone: a number on a grey ruin counts the ghouls touching it. A gold carving on a wall counts the ghouls along the straight line it points down. Tap either to see which tiles it counts โ once all its ghouls have candles (or it says 0), the tap opens the rest of its tiles. A ? is a safe tile that keeps its number to itself.
โ๏ธ Day: an endless shrine. Clear a room and its gates โฉ๏ธ open โ tap one to step into the next room. No clock, no losing; count the rooms you open. Your shrine is saved and waits for you.
๐ Night: a ladder of 100 sealed islands, each a little deeper. No clock โ your hedgehog ๐ฆ carries 5 candles on its back, your lives: uncovering a ghoul, or a candle on a safe tile, blows one out. Uncover every safe tile and the seal breaks.
๐น Nightmare: its own ladder and islands โ and the ghouls raid on a clock: the tiles that flicker are swallowed by the mist and a candle goes out. The raids come faster and bigger. Escape before the last candle dies.
Candles: long-press a tile (right-click with a mouse) to put a candle on a ghoul you're sure of. A long-press always does the opposite of the big button โ switch it to ๐ฏ๏ธ Candle and taps place candles while a long-press uncovers; the game remembers your choice. Tapping a number whose ghouls all have candles opens the rest. At Night candles are checked: a right one stays lit for good; on a safe tile a ghoul blows it out โ and a candle on its back goes with it.
